NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski has added a third full-time car to RFK Racing's lineup in the Cup Series for the next season and the co-owner recently shared his thoughts on the expansion.
Ryan Preece will join Keselowski and Chris Buescher as the third driver in 2025. RFK will lease the charter for the car from Rick Ware Racing. Keselowski explained why this move is important for the team in a recent team briefing.
"Having three teams gives us more data, helps us be better with how we spend our money. It just helps us be a more solid company. It helps us grow our people and provide the right resources for you to be successful. This is a big move for us. I think it’s a clear statement that we’re serious about the sport for a long time to come and that we’re committed to competing for wins and hopefully championships for years to come," he said. Preece was left without a ride after Stewart-Haas Racing shut down this year. He has over 180 starts in the Cup Series with two wins in the Xfinity and two in the Craftsman Truck Series. His No. 60 Ford Mustang will be sponsored by Kroger, which has worked with Preece for years.
"So proud to be, we’re at entering 25 with a third full-time car. Really excited to have Ryan here and welcome Ryan officially now. Before, we had to sneak him through the building, but now he can officially be in the building," Keselowski said.
Next season, RFK will have three full-time cars for the first time in about 8 years. The team is also going through other changes and has hired Keselowski's former crew chief Jeremy Bullin to replace Matt McCall next season.
"A friendship that never goes" - Brad Keselowski on reuniting with Jeremy Bullins
Brad Keselowski's No. 6 team at RFK Racing will welcome Jeremy Bullins as crew chief in 2025. Bullins has previously worked with Keselowski at Penske. They won five races over three seasons and also finished second in the final standings in 2020.
"Yeah, years have passed, but there’s still a friendship that never goes. I’m confident we’ll be able to learn from the years we had apart and apply lessons bilaterally," Keselowski said (via NASCAR).
Bullins was the crew chief for Harrison Burton and the No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing team in 2023 and 2024. He helped Burton win his first Cup Series race at the summer race this year in Daytona and also gave the Wood Brothers Racing team their 100th win.
