Dale Earnhardt Jr. recently shared his thoughts on Denny Hamlin and Ross Chastain's rivalry. The JGR and the Trackhouse driver began a feud following their incident at Gateway.
This was followed by several instances in which the two drivers came together on the track, after which, Hamlin was left with the bitter taste for the most part. Chastain wrecked Hamlin at Gateway, at Atlanta, and at Pocono. Even when Hamlin tried to take his revenge, which came at Phoenix last season, it was the #11 driver who was found guilty and had to pay a fine of $50,000 and 25 points.
Chastain and Hamlin's rivalry was a subject that was recently brought up on a Dirty Mo Media podcast last month.
As one of the co-hosts remarked that Hamlin and Chastain shouldn't have buried the hatchet and he wanted to keep going, Dale Earnhardt Jr. said:
"There's still a chance. You know we could just will it into existence. Plus we're close to Denny so we could probably inadvertently put it in his head. We could tell him some s**t ... get in his ear and be like, 'Hey man, I can't believe you let that happen man can't believe you took that.' We could just like constantly be like, 'I can't believe you just folded for Ross. Then so this is ove? You just kind of let him win?' The old Den, 'What do you mean let him win?' We could just keep that going and eventually in his head he's like, 'I let him win?' That's what I mean we could will it into existence."
Dale Earnhardt Jr. finds Denny Hamlin as the most exciting driver in NASCAR today
In an interview with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio earlier this year, Dale Earnhardt Jr. deemed Denny Hamlin as the most exciting personality in the sport today. Over the last few years, Hamlin has developed a reputation as a negative character among fans owing to his feuds with some of the most popular drivers like Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson.
Moreover, Hamlin has also remained a vocal critic of events and developments in the sport, especially since he got his own podcast under Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s Dirty Mo Media umbrella. In fact, he made an indirect admission on his podcast regarding the Ross Chastain-Phoenix incident which ended up becoming a big factor behind his penalty by NASCAR.
And speaking about his pick for the most exciting driver in the sport today, Earnhardt Jr. had no second thoughts. He claimed:
"I'm gonna say its Denny Hamlin. He's got some good zingers, one-liners, keeps pushing people around it's visible."
Dale Earnhardt Jr. added that Denny Hamlin creates 'a lot of problems', which he finds a lot of fun.
