Kyle Larson revealed his off-season plans as the Hendrick Motorsports driver gears up for his next vacation with his family. The #5 driver recently got back from the Bahamas to attend the NASCAR Award banquet at the Charlotte Convention Center. Following this Larson stated that he would be heading back for another vacation.
Larson is enjoying the NASCAR off-season to the fullest. In an interview with Frontstretch on YouTube, the HMS driver unraveled that he was off to the Bahamas with his family after the season-ending race at Phoenix Raceway.
Larson, who is worth $12 million (as per Celebrity Net Worth) finished the season on an underwhelming note. Despite being the most in-form driver, the HMS driver failed to perform at the right moment. Larson's 2024 season highlight was six Cup Series victories, the most by a driver this season.
"No, we just got back from Bahamas yesterday," Larson said when asked if he had any further plans. "So we spent I don't know five or so days there, and that was fun. You know with the family, kids and all that. Had to come back here for the banquet racing."
"I'll go racing in California on Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, and then Saturday again. And then we have another vacation after that Australia, and then I'll go directly to shootout and then you know then NASCAR season basically starts right after that so yeah, not a whole lot of like relaxing at home," he added. NASCAR kicks off the 2025 Cup Series season with the NASCAR Clash at the Bowman Gray Stadium, North Carolina, on February 2.
Kyle Larson's candid response to Chase Elliott's popular award
Chase Elliott once again won the NASCAR Most Popular Driver award. This was the seventh successive award for the Hendrick Motorsports driver. Kyle Larson, who was also a participant in the award, lost to his teammate.
After the award was given away, Larson was asked to share his thoughts on Elliott's massive fanbase, popularity, and what it would take him to beat the #9 driver. Replying to this in the Frontstretch's YouTube video, Kyle Larson said:
"He’s definitely got a large fan base, for sure, in NASCAR. It’s cool to see. I feel like my fan base has grown a lot this year with getting to do everything that I’ve done. We’ll see, but he usually wins by quite a bit. You never know. I think it’s cool to be part of Hendrick Motorsports, having probably the two most popular guys in the sport currently.” (4:43)
With the most popular driver award, Chase Elliott took himself behind his father, Bill Elliott, and Dale Earnhardt Jr., in total number of awards. While Elliott claimed the NASCAR Cup Series Most Popular Driver award, Justin Allgaier won it in the Xfinity Series, and Rajah Caruth claimed it in the Craftsman Truck Series.
