An angry Danica Patrick reacted after the C Spire company decided to pull all advertisements from the Paris Olympics 2024. The company took the decision in response to the Opening Ceremony on July 26, which faced criticism for its controversial portrayal of the Last Supper.
The ceremony featured drag queens and transgender individuals in an apparent rendition of Leonardo da Vinci’s painting The Last Supper, sparking outrage among religious leaders and politicians worldwide who condemned it as anti-Christian.
The performance led to an international outcry over its depiction of sacred religious and historical figures. In reaction to the controversy, C Spire announced their decision on X (Twitter), stating:
"We were shocked by the mockery of the Last Supper during the opening ceremonies of the Paris Olympics. C Spire will be pulling our advertising from the Olympics."
Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves also weighed in after the announcement. He said:
"I am proud to see the private sector in Mississippi step up and put their foot down. God will not be mocked. C Spire drew a common-sense, appropriate line."
Following these developments, Danica Patrick expressed her views on the situation. She commented on Instagram, questioning the initial approval of the content. Sharing a screenshot of C Spire’s announcement to withdraw from the Paris Olympics, she wrote on her Instagram story:
"How did all that pass standards and practices in the first place? I remember when I hosted the espys that many jokes did not pass... and it's meant to poke fun and not be taken seriously. What the f**k is going on? Who is in charge?"

The controversy did not stop with C Spire, with rumors suggest that other companies might follow suit. Although no other major corporations have made a public exit, industry insiders have hinted that several brands may reconsider their involvement with the Olympics.
