NASCAR fans on social media disapproved of Sam Mayer's celebration after the JR Motorsports driver claimed the victory at Iowa Speedway. Soon after his win, Mayer celebrated his victory on top of his Chevrolet, which did not go well with the fans.

Saturday's Hy-Vee Perks 250 race at Iowa saw drivers struggle with acute tire issues. The drivers found it hard to navigate through the newly paved Raceway as their front tires kept popping one after another. Amid this, Mayer came out as a lucky, yet another opportunity seeker.

The JR Motorsports driver clinched his win ahead of Riley Herbst of Stewart-Haas Racing, and Corey Heim of Sam Hunt Racing. As it was time for the #1 driver to celebrate his win in style, fans on social media soon took a dim view.

Fans flocked to the official NASCAR Xfinity Series' X (formerly Twitter) post where Mayer was seen celebrating and voiced their criticism. A fan wrote, "

"What a lame celebration."
While another fan wrote, "#cringe."

Notably, the criticism wasn't just limited to NASCAR Xfinity's one post. Fans came out to slam the JR Motorsports driver's celebration into other posts as well.

In another post by NASCAR Xfinity, where Sam Mayer's winning post was published, a fan wrote, "LAAAMMMMEEE."
Another fan wrote, "This is the one thing we did not want to happen." Seems like the fan did not enjoy Mayer's win.
While another fan had the same input. He wrote, "*no one liked that."
Lastly, a fan had complaints against the Iowa winner. That too in plenty. He wrote, "He can thank Spencer Creed for that. Bro is the worse driver I have ever seen in NASCAR, outside of Danica Patrick."

Sam Mayer's fine run in Iowa against all odds

Sam Mayer overcame ample challenges to claim the NASCAR Xfinity win at Iowa on Sunday. With this, Mayer took home his second win of the season and sixth of his career. The 20-year-old driver took the lead from Herbst and snatched the win by 0.146 seconds.

Speaking about his race win, the #1 driver said as per TSN, "I knew it was really, really important to have the top lane and have the momentum coming off of it, too. So I did pretty much all I could to get the best launch I could and to optimize Turn 2. Once I was clear, I knew my car was definitely better than the others close by. So I knew once I got clear, it was smooth sailing.”

Following Sunday's race, Sam Mayer rose to 11th place in the standings with 381 points. He overtook Shane Van Gisbergen. Cole Custer leads the pack with 547 points, followed by Chandler Smith and Austin Hill in second and third place, respectively.
