With 13 career NASCAR Cup Series victories and a Cup Series title in 2023, Ryan Blaney is on his way to having an all-time great career. The driver of the #12 Team Penske Ford wrapped up his ninth full-time Cup Series season in 2024 by finishing runner-up to teammate Joey Logano in the championship race.
The 13-time winner has had more success at some tracks than others. Here, we'll look at Blaney's three best tracks, where he holds multiple wins at each.
Talladega
Over the last five NASCAR Cup Series seasons, Ryan Blaney has become one of the better drivers at the drafting tracks. The 2.66-mile Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, Alabama is no exception as Blaney has three wins at the track, the most he has at any track on the Cup schedule.
Blaney's first Talladega triumph came in October 2019, when he outlasted Ryan Newman for the win by 0.007 seconds. The Ohio native picked up another Talladega win in June 2020 by edging out Ricky Stenhouse Jr. by 0.007 seconds. Blaney's third and final win to date at the Alabama track came in October 2023, which was on his way to his first Cup Series championship.
Pocono
With two wins, three top fives, and seven top 10s, the "Tricky Triangle" known as Pocono Raceway has proven to be one of Ryan Blaney's better tracks on the circuit. In 2017, Blaney's second Cup Series season, he picked up his first career victory at Pocono behind the wheel of the #21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford when he held off Kevin Harvick for the win.
Blaney picked up his second win at the 2.5-mile track this past season, which marked his second of three victories in 2024. His other best finish at the track was fifth in 2021.
Martinsville
One of Ryan Blaney's better racetracks in recent memory is the Martinsville Speedway, a 0.5-mile Virginia short track. The nine-year veteran driver has won the last two Martinsville playoff races, which is also the next-to-last race on the Cup Series schedule.
In 2023, Blaney passed Aric Almirola in the waning laps of the race to secure the victory. He led 145 of 500 laps en route to clinching a spot in the Championship 4 race, which he won the next week. This past season, Blaney passed Chase Elliott in the final laps to win at Martinsville and once again clinch a spot in the Championship 4 race, where he finished runner-up.
Ryan Blaney holds 10 top fives at Martinsville, the most at any other track. He's also posted 12 top 10s at Martinsville, the second-most of any track. Blaney's average finish at Martinsville is 8.3 in 18 starts, which is second-best for the driver behind Iowa, where he only has one start and won the race.
