NASCAR veteran Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s Dirty Mo Media recently spoke about an incident during the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race.
On lap 69 of the championship race, the pace car missed its mark to enter the pit road and made contact with the water barriers at the pit entrance. In what is considered a rare event, the pace car nearly bumped into racer leader HMS driver Chase Elliott before attempting to return to the pits. Here's a look at the incident (via NASCAR on TSN on X, formerly Twitter):
Following the incident, two-time Xfinity Series champion Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s media house criticized the odd event on the track:
"When you aren’t paying attention on the highway and your exit is RIGHT NOW TURN NOW GO 🗺️"
Fortunately, the pace car driver and the car did not sustain much damage. However, NASCAR decided to use the backup pace car for the remainder of the Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway.
Meanwhile, Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s Xfinity Series driver Justin Allgaier secured his first NASCAR Xfinity Series title and the 4th driver championship for JR Motorsports. JR Motorsports had three drivers in the Round of 8 of the playoffs; however, only their #7 Chevrolet pilot Allgaier secured his spot in the championship four before securing his title at Phoenix Raceway.
“Badly wanted one for Justin Allgaier”: Dale Earnhardt Jr. makes his feelings known following his fifth Xfinity Series title
Dale Earnhardt Jr. recently shared his thoughts on JR Motorsports driver Justin Allgaier winning his first Xfinity Series title. Earnhardt Jr., who is also a two-time champion in the same series, expressed how much he wanted the #7 driver to win.
Starting the Championship race in P37 after switching to a backup car due to a practice crash, Justin Allgaier quickly worked his way up the field, ultimately positioning himself among the frontrunners. Following a race restart after double overtime at Phoenix, Allgaier was leading the pack. However, Riley Herbst passed the #7 Chevy and won the race.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s driver finished the race in P2, ahead of the other three championship drivers, and secured the Xfinity Series title. In the post-race press conference, Dale Jr. said:
"He's just done so much for us. If there's a, you know, an image in a dictionary of a model race car driver, it's him. He's been incredible for our partners. Anyone that's worked with him on the partner side loves him."
"He goes above and beyond there. And he drives hard, sometimes it's too hard, but I'd rather have a driver like that going forward all the time and pushing as hard as he can. He's a lot of fun. We've had a lot of fun over the years, but I badly, badly wanted him to get this championship because he's a champion, he deserves it." The two-time Xfinity Series champion Dale Earnhardt Jr. added
Recently, Allgaier's contract extension was announced by JR Motorsports, keeping him behind the wheel of the #7 Chevy.
