Chase Elliott is one of the most sought-after NASCAR drivers under the current scenario. The Downsville-born has caught attention right from the beginning of his racing career with his performances, and coming into his 10th season as a Cup Series driver, he did not disappoint.
Chase made it through to the round of 12 and currently stands two places above the cutline with +4 points. As of 2024, he has 19 Cup Series, six Xfinity Series, three Truck Series wins and numerous racing accolades.
Hailing from a racing family, Elliott had spotlights on him since he was a kid, which he managed to get the better of and come out on top, both in terms of education and racing. While there is hardly any doubt about Elliot's racing prowess, not many might be aware of the #9 driver's educational qualification.
The Hendrick Motorsports driver was born on 28 November 1995, in Downsville, Georgia. His full name is William Clyde Elliott II but is more known as Chase, his first name.
Elliott completed high school at the King's Ridge Christian School at 2765 Bethany Bend, Alpharetta, GA 30004. One of the most renowned ones in Georgia, it was recognized for the AP School Honor Roll in 2024.
The school was founded in 2001 by the Advancement for Christian Education and started its journey with a strength of 196 students.
Elliott graduated from this school on 17 May 2014, 13 years after the school was founded. Interestingly, the NASCAR star had a race at Iowa Speedway the same weekend he had his graduation ceremony at school.
The #9 driver is the son of NASCAR champion Bill Elliott. After he clinched his Championship in 2020, Chase and his father became the third father-son duo to win NASCAR championships after Lee and Richard Petty, and Ned and Dale Jarrett.
"I did not encourage Chase to drive": Chase Elliott's mother on his son's early interest in driving
While Chase Elliott is now a renowned Cup Series driver, his initial intention was not to become a racing driver. Surprisingly, the Downsville-born star did not want to follow in his father's footsteps and enter the motorsport fraternity.
Chase's mother, Cindy Elliott, revealed this during one of her interviews with SI.com in 2011, saying, as quoted by Valvoline:
“I did not encourage Chase to drive, at all. Bill did not either. I took him to every baseball clinic they had at Young Harris College (near the Elliotts' hometown of Dawsonville, Ga.). I tried to get him to play golf. But this is something that he’s always wanted to do.”
Chase is competing for his second NASCAR Cup Series title this season.
