Trackhouse Racing driver Daniel Suarez, hailing from Monterrey, Mexico, is one of NASCAR's international stars. After making waves in Mexican racing circuits at a young age, Suarez climbed the ranks of stock car racing to reach the highest echelon.
Suarez was born on January 7, 1992, to Alejandro Suárez and Rosalina Garza in Monterrey, in the northeastern state of Nuevo León, Mexico. He began his racing career at the age of 10 in karts, where he honed his skills before advancing to the Mini Stocks division of NASCAR Mexico.
Suarez made his full-time debut in the Mexico series in 2010, winning the Rookie of the Year honors. The following season, he began racing in the K&N Pro Series East on a part-time schedule while simultaneously competing in the Mexico Series.
The Monterrey native was inducted into NASCAR's Drive for Diversity program in the 2013 season, during which he secured his first K&N Pro victory with Rev Racing while finishing second in the Mexico Series championship. The following season, he got the call from Joe Gibbs Racing, making his Xfinity Series debut at Richmond Raceway.
The 32-year-old made his full-time Xfinity Series debut in 2015, finishing fifth in the standings. The following season, he earned his first NASCAR victory at Michigan and went on to secure two additional wins. By season’s end, he was crowned the champion, becoming the first Mexico-born driver to win a race and the first foreign-born champion in the series.
He graduated to the Cup Series in 2017 with Joe Gibbs Racing, driving the #19 Toyota for two seasons before joining Stewart-Haas Racing in 2019. The following year, he moved to Gaunt Brothers Racing.In his first four years in the Cup Series, he enjoyed moderate success, achieving a best finish of 17th in the standings in 2019 while driving for Stewart-Haas Racing.
Daniel Suarez's move to Trackhouse Racing, co-owned by Pitbull and Justin Marks, in 2021, revived his career. As the team’s sole driver during its inaugural season, he finished 21st in the standings. In 2022, he secured his first Cup Series victory at Sonoma and concluded the season with a career-best 10th place in the standings. His second Cup victory came this season at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

According to USA Today, Suarez met the love of his life, Julia Piquet in 2012. She is the daughter of three-time F1 champion Nelson Piquet and the sister of Kelly Piquet, who is currently dating F1 star Max Verstappen.
Suarez and Piquet got engaged in late 2022 and officially tied the knot in July 2024 during the two-week Olympic break. The couple married in Brazil, and Suarez made his debut in the NASCAR Brasil Series that same weekend.
