NASCAR star Kyle Larson competed in the second international High Limit Racing event at Australia’s Perth Motorplex on Sunday (December 29).
Driving the #1K sprint car, the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion started on the pole and ended up finishing P9 in the 24-driver field. He was looking good until his #1k crashed into the wall on Lap 9 of 30 and suffered significant rear-end damage. However, Larson rejoined at the tail of the field and worked his way to finish inside the top 10.
The series heads to Western Australia for its first international Sprint Car race in the sport’s history, hosting it for three days from December 28-30 at Perth Motorplex. Tomorrow (December 30), dirt sprint car drivers will race for $100,000, the highest-paying sprint car event in Australian history.
Meanwhile, Homeland native James McFadden secured back-to-back prelim events of the inaugural international High Limit Racing event at Australia’s Perth Motorplex. He emerged victorious after leading the final 22 laps and held off California's Cole Macedo to take the checkered flag. He earned again a prize money of $12,500 on winning the final preliminary night of the first international High Limit Racing event.
Matt Egel, Kyle Larson’s brother-in-law, Brad Sweet, and Jock Goodyer are in the top five. Brock Zearfoss, Kaiden Manders, Cory Eliason, Kyle Larson, and Giovanni Scelzi completed the top 10.
