2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson took part in the finale of the three-day show of the Kubota High Limit Racing International race at Australia’s Perth Motorplex on Monday (December 30).
Driving the #1K sprint car, Kyle Larson became the winner of the inaugural High Limit Racing international finale at Perth Motorplex. It's the highest-paying sprint car event in Australian history. Larson took home a prize money of $100,000.
NASCAR star emerged victorious after grabbing the lead from homeland racer James McFadden with nine laps to go and stayed out front without any challenge to cross the finish line in P1. Larson crossed the finish line 3.148 seconds ahead of McFadden to take the checkered flag.
McFadden, who led the opening 26 laps, finished runner-up, followed by Callum Williamson, Kyle Larson’s brother-in-law Brad Sweet, and Australian standout Dayne Kingshott are in the top five. Brock Zearfoss, Jock Goodyer, Cole Macedo, Matt Egel and Ryan Newton completed the top 10.
McFadden won the first two prelim nights of High Limit Racing international event.
After Larson's first win in Australia, NASCAR journalist Matt Weaver on X wrote:
