Ahead of Sunday’s NASCAR Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway, former NASCAR Cup Series champions Chase Elliott and Kevin Harvick took part in a super late model race at Five Flags Speedway on Friday, June 28.
A large crowd gathered to watch the super late model star drivers locking horns against one of NASCAR’s top-level drivers, Elliott and Harvick. Hendrick Motorsports star driver Elliott ended up finishing P16 in the final running order, while former NASCAR driver Harvick crossed the line 13th in his super late model debut.
Both NASCAR champions struggled to find the pace throughout the 100-lap event. Elliott, who won the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series championship and ran full-time for Hendrick Motorsports in Cup Series, qualified sixth and started on the front row after the top-eight redraw.
After the race, Chase Elliott said his #9 FR8 Racing Chevy was “loose, loose, loose,” and that knocked him out of the lead to lap down before reaching the half of the race.
Meanwhile, Bubba Pollard won the Busch Light 100 at Five Flags Speedway, marking his 25th Blizzard Series victory of his illustrious career. Pollard grabbed the lead from Casey Roderick with 19 laps remaining in the race and held off Roderick and Stephen Nasse in the closing lap to grab the checkered flag.
Pollard crossed the finish line by an impressive margin of 2.310 seconds, ahead of Stephen Nasse.
Meanwhile, Stephen Nasse finished runner-up, followed by Casey Roderick, Matt Craig, and Cole Butcher in the top-five. Jacob Gomes, Michael Hinde, Connor Okrzesik, Jackson Boone, and Jeremy Doss completed the top-10.
