Ahead of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Chicago Street Course, Kyle Busch took part in the Celebration of America 300 at Oxford Plains Speedway on Wednesday, July 3.
Driving the #51, the two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch finished 24th at Oxford Plains in Miane. He was in contention to win late in the race but spun on Lap 271 while running fourth.
Daniel Hemric, who competes full-time in the #31 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Kaulig Racing in NASCAR Cup Series, finished 21st.
Meanwhile, Joey Doiron won the inaugural All That's Metal Celebration of America 300 at Oxford Plains after grabbing the lead on Lap 266 of the 300 and holding off Derek Griffith on the final lap.
Doiron crossed the finish line by an impressive margin of 1.668 seconds, ahead of Griffith to earn a prize money of $40,000.
Derek Griffith finished runner-up, followed by Cassius Clark, Johnny Clark and Max Cookson in the top-five. D.J. Shaw, Garrett Hall, Dave Farrington Jr., Joe Pastore, and Trevor Sanborn completed the top-10.
