Which NASCAR driver and team has the most wins at Atlanta Motor Speedway?

The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series heads to Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Quaker State 400. The excitement is high as it’s the first playoff race of the season at Atlanta.

The Atlanta Motor Speedway is located in Hampton, Georgia. The 1.54-mile-long asphalt quad-oval intermediate track features 24 degrees of banking in the turns and 5 degrees on the straightaway.

It hosted its first NASCAR Cup Series race in 1960, where Fireball Roberts emerged victorious driving the #22 Pontiac for John Hines.

Since the inaugural race, some of the biggest stars and teams have reached victory lane at least once at Atlanta Motor Speedway. A total of 49 different NASCAR drivers have taken the checkered flag in 119 Cup races in Atlanta.

With nine victories, NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt is the most successful driver at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Cup Series history. Earnhardt took his first checkered flag on this track in 1980, while his last win came in 2000.

Among active Cup drivers, Kyle Busch, William Byron, and Brad Keselowski hold the lead with two victories each at Atlanta.

Hendrick Motorsports’ 17 Cup wins at Atlanta are the most among all teams. They came in 2023, 22 sweep, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2011, 2007 sweep, 2004, 2003, 2000, 1998, 1995, 1991, and 1989. Meanwhile, Wood Brothers Racing has won 12 times.

Nine different manufacturers have won at this track, while Chevrolet (45) has won the most times. They are followed by Ford (35), Toyota (3), Dodge (9), Mercury (7), Pontiac (11), Buick (4), Plymouth (1), and Oldsmobile (2).
