The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series heads to the Martinsville Speedway for the Xfinity 500. The excitement is high, as it’s the elimination race of the final round of the playoffs season at the shortest track on the schedule.
The Martinsville Speedway is in Ridgeway, Virginia. The 0.5-mile track features 12 degrees of banking in turns and zero degrees of banking in straightaways. It hosted its first NASCAR Cup Series race in 1949, where Red Byron emerged victorious in the #22 Oldsmobile for Raymond Parks.

With 15 victories, NASCAR legend Richard Petty is the most successful driver at the Martinsville Speedway in Cup Series history. Stewart took his first checkered flag at the event in 1960, while his last win came in 1979.
Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski, Martin Truex Jr., William Byron and Kyle Busch are the only active drivers with multiple wins at Martinsville.
