The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series heads to Michigan International Speedway for FireKeepers Casino 400. The excitement is high as the Cup Series has a long and storied history with Michigan.
The Michigan International Speedway is located in Brookyln, Michigan. The two-mile-long D-shaped oval track features 18 of banking in turns, five degrees of banking in the front stretch, and two degrees of banking in the back stretch.
It hosted its first NASCAR Cup Series race in 1969, where Cale Yarborough emerged victorious driving the #21 Mercury for Wood Brothers Racing.

Among active Cup drivers, Kyle Larson and Joey Logano hold the lead with three victories at Michigan. While Denny Hamlin is the next two closest active drivers with two wins.
RFK Racing’s 14 Cup wins at Michigan are the most among all teams. They came in 1990, 1993, 1997, 2004, 1998, 2002–2003, 2005, 2007, 2013, 2006, 2008, 2012, and 2023. Meanwhile, Wood Brothers Racing has won 11 times.
Eight different manufacturers have won at this track, while Ford (44) has won the most times. They are followed by Chevrolet (26), Toyota (5), Dodge (9), Mercury (12), Pontiac (4), Buick (4), and Oldsmobile (2).
