The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series heads to the Phoenix Raceway for the Championship Race. The excitement is high, as it’s the title-deciding race of the season at the one-mile-long track on the schedule.
The Phoenix Raceway is in Avondale, Arizona. The one-mile-long track features eight degrees of banking in turns one and two, 11 degrees in turns three and four, and 3 degrees on the backstretch. It hosted its first NASCAR Cup Series race in 2005, where Kurt Busch emerged victorious in the #97 Ford for Roush Racing.
Since the inaugural Cup race at Phoenix, some of the biggest stars and teams have reached victory lane at Phoenix Raceway. Thirty-one different drivers have taken the checkered flag in 56 Cup races at Phoenix.
With nine victories, NASCAR legend Kevin Harvick is the most successful driver at the Phoenix Raceway in Cup Series history. Harvick took his first checkered flag at the event in 2006, while his last win came in 2018.
Joey Logano and Kyle Busch are the only active drivers with multiple wins at Phoenix.
Hendrick Motorsports’ 13 Cup wins at Phoenix are the most among all teams. They came in 2023, ’21, ’20, ’15, ’11, ’09 sweep, ’08 sweep, ’07 sweep, ’05, 94. Meanwhile, Stewart-Haas Racing has won seven times.
Four manufacturers have won at this track, led by Chevrolet with 27 wins. They are followed by Ford (19), Toyota (eight), and Pontiac (two).
