Greg Biffle, a semi-retired NASCAR driver, is on a mission to rescue and provide aid to all the victims of category 4 Hurricane Helene in North Carolina. The 54-year-old former NASCAR driver started this as a one-man program, and now several NASCAR teams have joined him in this good cause.
Biffle began his NASCAR career in 1995 and made a quick name in the motorsports world with his exceptional on-track performances. He is one of three drivers to win both the Busch Series and the Craftsman Series. He also won a race in each NASCAR format during his prime.
Greg Biffle was the Roush Racing team driver, and after racing in the NASCAR Winter Heat Series in the mid-1990s, former racer and announcer Benny Parson recommended him to Jack Roush. Under the Rousch Racing team banner, Biffle won the 1998 Craftsman Series Rookie of the Year award and became the champion two years later, in 2000. He made his last on-track appearance in 2019 racing for the NY Racing Team.
During the devasting Hurricane Helene, Biffle chose to step up for the people affected by the unfortunate calamity. The 54-year-old is using his personal helicopter to monitor the area and look out for the people in need. The Biff provides them with temporary networks to make calls and essentially utilities.
The former Craftsman Series Champion is frequently posting reels on his social media handles. Earlier, he shared an X post with a pin on the map marking the location where they dropped the supplies.
"If your family is near this pin, they got my attention with a mirror flashing against the sun they are okay and we’ve dropped off supplies," wrote Greg Biffle.
Greg Biffle thanks multi-billionaire Elon Musk for his donation to the rescue mission
Greg Biffle's rescue mission also garnered the support of Elon Musk, the owner of X (formerly known as Twitter). He sent his 500 units of aircraft to join Biffle and his lads in the rescue mission. The former Craftsman Series Champion expressed his gratitude to Musk for backing them up.
"Special thanks to Polaris, SpaceX, and Starlink," Greg Biffle said in his recent post on X. "They're sending 500 units to my shop currently. Will be there early in the morning, around 5 a.m. We're going to be taking those (to the) airport and ready to deploy them as soon as sun up into helicopters to all these areas in western North Carolina. Polaris (is) also donating a full thing of generator, local companies donating all the fuel containers they have in their inventory; I believe interstate cycle," wrote Greg Biffle.
Not only Biffle and Musk are aiding the people in need NASCAR teams like Hendrick Motorsports, Joe Gibbs Racing Team, and 23XI Racing Team also come forward in these tough times. Biffle, Hendrick Motorsports, and Joe Gibbs Racing are using their helicopters to deliver supplies and posting everyone about the current updates of the affected zones. The 23XI Racing team will be donating $1 million to the NC Disaster Relief Funds and Second Harvest of Metrolina.
