It would not be wrong to call Shane van Gisbergen the king of street circuits after the New Zealander claimed back-to-back Xfinity Series race victories earlier this season. Thanks to his street track expertise, van Gisbergen has now become a household name among motorsport enthusiasts, especially among those who follow NASCAR.
Off the track, Shane van Gisbergen is in a relationship with Jessica Dane. The couple made their relationship public back in 2022, but opted to keep the details under wraps for quite some time. However, their appearances together on racing circuits have often brought them into the limelight.
Dane has long been an owner of Triple Eight Racing, the team van Gisbergen raced for in the Supercars division. She is the daughter of veteran former team founder Roland Dane.
Jessica Dane owned 30 percent of Triple Eight Racing, along with former driver Jamie Whincup and Tony Quinn. She also worked in the position of Commercial Operations Manager and handled the everyday running of operations.
Triple Eight Racing always supported Shane van Gisbergen and Jessica Dane's relationship. Their relationship has been an open secret for months now, and the team did not seem to have any issues about it.
Van Gisbergen is the reigning Supercars champion and raced for Dane's team for four seasons until his contract ran out in 2023. As things stand, the New Zealander is one of the top drivers in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
Jessica Dane made a big sacrifice for Shane van Gisbergen
Jessica Dane recently made the hardest decision of her life. She sold her shares in Triple Eight Racing, having recently moved to the United States to live with his partner, Shane van Gisbergen.
"I’m incredibly proud of what Triple Eight has achieved over the years and honored to have been able to play a small part along the way,” Dane said.
"However, I know it’s the right decision. While I’ve lived in the US, I’ve hated that I can only give a fraction of my time, energy, and capacity to a team that means so very much to me. I am delighted that two such passionate people in Earl and Steve are joining Triple Eight.”
Jessica Dane sold her shares to Earl Evans and Steve Blackmore, and has taken over the role of motorsport integration manager at General Motors.
