Who won the NASCAR race today?
Joey Logano, driving the #22 Ford for Team Penske, secured his second win of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season in overtime at Atlanta.
With a strong last-lap push from teammate Ryan Blaney, Logano managed to hold off Daniel Suarez on an overtime restart to win the NASCAR playoff opener and advanced to the Round of 12 of the playoffs as he was eying for his third Cup series championship. The win marked Logano's second at Atlanta and 34th of his Cup Series career.
Meanwhile, Daniel Suárez raced behind Logano on the first lap of overtime but lost his help from Trackhouse Racing teammate Ross Chastain and ended up finishing runner-up.
