The 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship Race is done and dusted. The title-deciding race of the season, with 38 entries, started at 7 pm ET on Saturday, November 9. It took place at Phoenix Raceway and lasted two hours, 28 minutes, and 08 seconds.
The Championship Race saw 21 lead changes among eight drivers and witnessed seven caution flags.
Who won the NASCAR Xfinity Series race today?
Driving the #98 Ford for Stewart-Haas Racing, Riley Herbst secured his second win of the 2024 Xfinity Series season in the title-deciding race at the one-mile Phoenix track.
Herbst dominated the race, sweeping both of the race’s stage wins, and then beats held off JR Motorsports’ Justin Allgaier in double overtime to cross the finish line in P1.
With P2 results, Justin Allgaier finished ahead of title contender Austin Hill, AJ Allmendinger, and Cole Custer to clinch his long-awaited first Xfinity Series championship.
The 25-year-old Nevada native led 167 of the 213 laps and crossed the finish line with an impressive margin of 0.247 seconds ahead of Allgaier to grab the checkered flag. The win marked Herbst’s third of his Xfinity Series career.
Meanwhile, Justin Allgaier finished runner-up, followed by Aric Almirola, Connor Zilisch, and Chandler Smith in the top five.
Jesse Love, Sheldon Creed, Cole Custer, AJ Allmendinger, and Austin Hill completed the top 10.
