Driving the #1 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports, Sam Mayer secured his third win of the 2024 Xfinity season in an action-packed event that sparked late-race controversy at Charlotte Roval.

In overtime, Mayer grabbed the lead from Parker Kligerman in a fierce battle in turn 7 on the final restart and held off the rest of the field to advance to the next round of playoffs. He crossed the finish line with an impressive margin of 1.474 seconds ahead of AJ Allmendinger to grab the checkered flag. The win marked Mayer’s second straight at Roval and the seventh of his NASCAR Xfinity Series career.

Meanwhile, AJ Allmendinger finished runner-up, followed by Shane Van Gisbergen, Austin Hill, and Chandler Smith in the top five. Parker Kligerman, Justin Allgaier, Josh Bilicki, Aric Almirola, and Sammy Smith completed the top 10.

Parker Kligerman, Shane van Gisbergen, Riley Herbst, and Sheldon Creed are the four drivers who got eliminated from the playoffs.
