The 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series The Loop 110 is done and dusted. The 18th race of the season, with 38 entries, started at 3:30 pm ET on Saturday, July 6. It took place at the Chicago Street Course and lasted one hour, 56 minutes, and 45 seconds.
The Loop 110 saw nine lead changes among five drivers and witnessed seven caution flags.
Who won the NASCAR Xfinity Series race today?
Driving the #97 Chevrolet for Kaulig Racing, rookie Shane van Gisbergen secured his third win of the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series season and second race win on the 2.2-mile-long Chicago Street Course.
Van Gisbergen, who started on pole, emerged victorious when he grabbed the lead from Jesse Love with two laps to go and held on to the lead to cross the finish line in P1.
SVG won Stage 1 and led a race-high 14 of the 50 laps. He crossed the finish line with an impressive margin of 1.287 seconds ahead of Gibbs to grab the checkered flag in Chicago. This marked his 11th career win in the Xfinity Series. Van Gisbergen’s all three Xfinity career wins came on street or road courses.
Meanwhile, Gibbs finished as runner-up, followed by Cup regular Kyle Larson, Parker Kligerman, and Jesse Love in the top five. Connor Mosack, Austin Hill, Cup regular Joey Logano, Justin Allgaier, and Austin Green completed the top 10.
Cole Custer, the defending winner of the event, finished 18th in the running order despite dealing with various issues throughout the race.
