Danica Patrick recently dished on Dark Age architecture and even pointed folks to a spot where they can check out the style. She shared a video from an Instagram account talking about the Dark architecture period.

Danica Patrick, a trailblazer in the racing world, was the first woman to win a race at an IndyCar championship. Her racing journey started with go-karts when she was just 10 years old. She then crossed the pond to compete in Formula Fords and Vauxhalls in Europe.

Her career took a major leap forward when former Indy driver Bobby Rahal signed her for a U.S. Indy-car racing deal. Patrick then tried her luck into full-time NASCAR racing in 2012, competing in the Cup and Xfinity series. In 2017, she announced her plan to hang up her helmet following the next year's Indy 500.

These days, she's still in the thick of the racing scene, offering her insights as a race analyst for various F1 and NASCAR events. Recently, Danica stumbled upon a post from "The Right Stuff" on Instagram, where the host stated:

"So, the most beautiful buildings in the world were built during the 'Dark Ages' and yet now we can't build anything beautiful. Maybe the real dark age is now."

Sharing the post on her IG Story, Danica Patrick wrote:

"yikes?! go to Europe for evidence of this everywhere you go."

The medieval period is often dubbed the Middle Ages or Dark Ages by scholars. The era witnessed a decline in the scientific, cultural, and artistic strides that had been achieved by the ancient Greeks and Romans.

Architectural styles from the 'Dark Ages' time grew out of the classical foundations laid by the Greeks and Romans. Middle Ages structures got taller and fancier, boasting pointed arches and flying buttresses.

During this time, two predominant architectural styles emerged: Romanesque and Gothic. Romanesque architecture is known for its rounded arches, thick walls, and small windows. On the other side, Gothic architecture had pointed arches, gargoyles, stained glass windows, and the use of flying buttresses.

Danica Patrick talks about mental toughness and its importance in entrepreneurship

After NASCAR, Danica Patrick shifted her career from full-time racing to entrepreneurship. In a recent chat with Forbes, she discussed how the mental grit she honed on the racetrack smoothed her path into business ventures. She shared:

"One thing that I learned as a core rule for any business venture you take on is that anything you do, you need to do it because you love it. That’s the thing I’ve fed into all of my other businesses after racing is that they all came about very organically and really as a result of some passion that I had for something."

Danica Patrick pointed out that, just like in racing, her business success stems from building trust and credibility from scratch.

Reflecting on her racing days, she remarked:

"Obviously my job was stressful but as far as mental health, I feel super grateful that I just didn’t have a lot of those anxieties or spirals where I struggled."

However, when doubts crept in, Danica Patrick said she would shift her focus to her past achievements and victories.

"Whenever I had times that were harder and I had doubt in myself, I would have to remember the things I had accomplished."
