After Spire Motorsports had made headlines with some bold moves in NASCAR silly season, their co-owner, Jeff Dickerson, reflected on the sense of urgency and determination to achieve success in NASCAR’s top-tier series. He recently made one thing clear that their main goal is to win races.

With the lack of victories, Spire Motorsports is reshaping its driver lineup for the 2025 season. They have made big changes and investments in recent times, such as hiring veteran crew chief Rodney Childers for the 2025 season and parting ways with Corey LaJoie at the end of the season.

During a two-week Olympic break, Dickerson’s team made the shocking revelation that LaJoie will not return to the #7 Cup car next season.

Speaking to SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Jeff Dickerson stated that these changes are made with the clear goal of achieving victories. Dickerson said:

“We have to win. Like, you don't do these moves and not win. You don't do Rodney. You don't try to move on from Corey. You don't bring in some of the guys that we've been bringing on behind the scenes, you know, without, you know what I mean?”

Spire Motorsports made its debut in 2019, and since then they have managed to secure only one Cup win, with Justin Haley behind the wheel at Daytona in their first season. Dickerson admitted that they’ve been talking about building a successful team for a long time.

Dickerson continued:

“We've talked about building it and building it and building it, right? And you guys have obviously all been riding shotgun on the whole journey with us, right? But it's like, we've just been talking about it so long where it's just like, hey, can we? You know what I mean? It's time.”

Spire Motorsports is hoping to qualify for playoffs this season

All three drivers of Spire Motorsports are currently sitting outside the top-20 in the Cup Series points table. Only a win can secure their berth in the playoffs because they can’t qualify by relying on points.

However, Spire co-owner is still hopeful to secure their first win of the season with four races remaining in the regular season before the playoffs.

In the aforementioned interview, Dickerson said:

“The goal for this year is to win. And we still have that opportunity. And hopefully it's over the next four so we can get into the playoffs.”

As the team's current performance is not meeting expectations, Dickerson clarified that they cannot continue with the same results without achieving wins in 2025.
