Kyle Busch in a recent conversation talked about improving the consistency in the remaining half of the current season. This comes as Busch and the #8 Richard Childress Racing team are heading towards the much-awaited 2024 season's All-Star race this Sunday (May 19).
The two-time Cup Series champion is still struggling to find his maiden win this season. After a total of 13 races in the 2024 season, Busch currently sits at P13 in the overall Cup Series standings with two top-fives and five top-tens, with 324 points under his belt.
Speaking to Frontstretch, the #8 Chevy driver talked about boosting his consistency when asked if he is keeping an eye on the points as well along with the intention to win.
"I mean the better you run the easy the more points will take care of themselves and the easier your year will be so we obviously know that we need to get a win and carry on that you know that long-running 19 years of winning a race make it 20 so that would definitely be nice and then obviously too just being able to run up front I mean we had two weeks that were really good we made good Headway in the points and then we had a really bad last week," Busch said. The Las Vegas, Nevada native finished at P27 after starting in 11th place at Darlington Raceway last week. Before that, he secured a P4 and P8 at Dover and Kansas Speedway respectively.
"So you can't be feast or famine you've got to be consistent and there are guys that are out there being consistent you know you look at the #24 he's pretty consistent you look at the #11 who's really consistent so there are guys that are doing it so it is capable we got to make it ourselves," Busch added.
Later on, the 39-year-old emphasized the consistency shown by the #11 Denny Hamlin who is at P3 in the points table with three wins to his name. He also mentioned the #24 William Byron who is at P5 in the table and also has three wins.
Kyle Busch has won on every track except one
Kyle Busch is a full-time Cup Series driver for Richard Childress Racing and a part-time driver for Spire Motorsports in the Xfinity Series.
According to NASCAR, there is only one driver who has managed to secure a win at every race track except one. Kyle 'Rowdy' Busch, the 2018 and 2019 Cup Series Champion and the 2009 Xfinity Series Champion, is the sole record holder who has tamed every other race track in his illustrious career. He has a total of 63 Cup Series wins.
Charlotte Roval road course is the only track where Busch hasn't made his mark yet.
