Former NASCAR driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr. recently spoke on his podcast about the up and down nature of celebrating New Year's Eve. The 50-year-old talked about his excitement on NYE and the eventual deflating feeling after the clock strikes 12 and the fireworks are all done.

Talking on the Dale Jr. Download podcast, Dale Jr. described his mood before the new year began and immediately after it being completely different, and that on a New Year's Eve night, the ability to celebrate takes a hit after the major celebration is over. Speaking on the 597th episode of the podcast with his wife, Amy Earnhardt, the former Hendricks Motorsport driver said:

"[B]ut on the New Year's Eve, you're riding a high and you're having a blast and you're drinking beers and having fun. And then man, when that fireworks are over, you're like now what?"

Although he would prefer to keep the party going, Dale Jr. accepts the reality of the situation, saying:

"But now I'm down to this s****y beer, and you're like welp, it's just me and I've played all the music"

The Dirty Mo Media X account shared the Hall of Famer's re-telling of his NYE night from the podcast earlier this week, adding the caption:

"Did anyone else feel the post-New Year's Eve blues?"

Dale Earnhardt Jr., apart from being a podcast host, is also the president and co-owner of the Xfinity Series team, JR Motorsports. The team just secured it's fourth championship title in the 2024 season thanks to the efforts of Justin Allgaier who completed the season with two wins, ten Top 5s and twenty Top 10s, scoring a total of 4035 points.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. announces Ex-Spotter as Co-Host

Dale Earnhardt Jr. announced that he would be joined by Travis James Majors on Tuesdays on the Dale Jr. Download. T.J. Majors has been Earnhardt's spotter during the driver's time with Hendrick Motorsports, including during his win at Daytona 500 in 2014.

Earnhardt and Majors met in 1998 when they competed each other in iRacing and built a friendship from there. Speaking about having him on the podcast, the 15-time Most Popular Driver award winner said:

"We can banter and argue and give each other a hard time, which I think is a lot of fun. [...] He's fun to give a hard time to."

TJ Majors is also co-host of another Dirty Mo Media podcast, Door Bumper Clear, which he hosts with Brett Griffin and Freddie Kraft who are spotters, along with industry insider Casey Boat.

Majors worked as Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s spotter until his retirment in 2017, and then joined Joey Logano's team for the 2018 season in the Cup Series. At the end of their first season together, Logano and Majors took home the title.
