Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s wife, Amy Earnhardt, had several items on her wish list for the Hellman’s tailgate draft. However, one of those items was claimed by Andrew Kurland, a co-host of Dale Jr.’s NASCAR podcast, and Amy instantly responded to it.
Hellman’s Tailgate Draft is a campaign meant for avid football fans organized by Hellman’s mayonnaise to promote the sport and formulate special game day recipes for the fans. This campaign includes a customized tailgating RV that goes around delivering these mayo-inspired delicacies and spreading the brand’s message.
Amy’s list included a speaker, some good old High Rock Vodka jello shots, chips, and dips, and a bottle (or more) of champagne. However, there was one more item that she had wanted to be on her list, and that was a cozy camping chair.
When Andrew demanded “nice, comfy, camping chairs”, Amy said,
“You stole that off my list!” (0:38)
On the other hand, Dale Earnhardt Jr., a real beer lover, didn’t miss out on naming his favorite form of booze. He could do without champagne or vodka jello shots, but watching a football game without a pack of “Bud” is perhaps out of the question.
Notably, Hellman’s has been a longtime sponsor of JR Motorsports, a NASCAR Xfinity Series team that Dale Jr. co-owns alongside his sister Kelley Earnhardt and Rick Hendrick of Hendrick Motorsports. In March 2024, Hellman’s Mayonnaise and JR Motorsports announced that their partnership would continue through 2026, marking their 18th year together in the sport.
Amy Earnhardt reveals Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s nasty shower habit
In an episode of the Dale Jr. Download podcast back in July, the crew took turns revealing their worst habits. Dale Earnhardt Jr. thought, for him, it would perhaps be spending hours playing video games. But his wife did not agree.
Amy then revealed Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s habit of honking his nose into the bath towel, the one that he uses to wipe himself off after a shower.
“He dries himself off and then he honks his nose as loud as a goose into the towel,” Amy Earnhardt said. “Here's a thing about the said towel. He'll hang it back up. So if you don't know if it's your towel or his towel... because they all look the same!” (0:23)
Earnhardt Jr. felt it was somewhat of an extension of his dad’s legacy. Even the great Dale Earnhardt Sr. used to do the same while showering. Dale Jr. recalled,
“I could just hear dad on the other side of the house making noise and it honked and so when I did that one day, I was like, yeah, I'm never not doing that.” (0:50)
“Just like dad,” Amy laughed.
Before the fans start judging Dale Earnhardt Jr., need it be reminded that the 50-year-old man is a two-time Xfinity Series champion, a former Daytona 500 winner, and not to say the least, a Hall of Famer. The NASCAR vet, who is worth $300 million according to Celebrity Net Worth, has 631 starts in the Cup Series alone to his credit.
