Kyle Busch missed the opportunity to win his first race of the season, once again, at Kansas last Sunday. The RCR driver, leading the race, was spun as he tried to pass Chase Briscoe.

With Busch going winless in the regular season; and if he fails to win in the remaining six races left in the playoffs, one of his most legendary streaks is on the verge of coming to an end.

Kyle Busch has won at least one NASCAR Cup Series race for the last 19 years in a row. Winning at Kansas would've extended that record to 20 seasons.

But as per Freddie Kraft, the spotter of Bubba Wallace, Busch could still win a race in the remaining six races of the season and keep his streak alive.

"They've been in contention for a bunch the last month or two. He'll be in contention this week. They've been fast at the speedway races. He'll be in contention at the ROVAL but I don't see it .... Homestead, if he was as fast as he was yesterday, he's going to be fast in Homestead. There's place where he can definitely contend and honestly, being a fan of the sport, you want to see him win, you want to see that streak continue," Kraft said on the Door Bumper Clear podcast.

It's worth mentioning that Kyle Busch has come close many times to a win this season. He lost the race win in a photo-finish at Atlanta.

Then there was the last lap pass by Harrison Burton in the Coke 400 at Daytona, followed by another incident by Chase Briscoe at Darlington.

Freddie Kraft didn't approve of Chase Briscoe's post-race comments on Kyle Busch

During the Door Bumper Clear podcast, Freddie Kraft shared his take on the Kyle Busch-Chase Briscoe incident from Kansas. The RCR driver ended up spinning out as he tried passing the SHR driver, who was trying to get to the lead lap.

Following the race, Briscoe claimed that he would've liked to see a Kyle Busch win considering he is a fan of the 2x Cup champion. However, his words didn't sit right with Kraft, even though the spotter didn't put the #14 driver at fault for the incident.

"I think it's spot off to say he wants to see him win. It's kind of a counterproductive statement when you say, I left him a car within a couple of inches but I really want to see him win. I don't think Chase Briscoe did anything wrong. Could he have been more accommodating? Yes, obviously. But you're racing to stay on the lead lap," the spotter said.

Another NASCAR insider who didn't put the Busch-Briscoe incident's blame on the SHR driver was journalist Jordan Bianchi. Speaking on the Teardown after Kansas, Bianchi said that Briscoe is a playoff driver who needs "every point he can get."

So for him to be a lap down wasn't a good thing and it was only natural that he was racing aggressively and fighting to stay on the lead lap.
