Following Zane Smith securing the new third seat at Front Row Motorsports, McCall Smith shared an emotional message for her husband. Smith said she was crying over the announcement that would keep the young driver in the Cup Series.
Zane Smith is a 25-year-old professional stock car racing driver who wed McCall last year. After a tough 2024 season, he was left without a seat when Trackhouse Racing, the team that loaned him to Spire Motorsports, let him go for Shane van Gisbergen.
McCall Smith reshared a reel that was originally uploaded by Front Row Motorsports's Instagram account on her IG story and added a three-word message for Zane, saying:
"Now I'm crying."

In a previous IG story, McCall expressed excitement over her husband teaming up with Todd Gilliland and Noah Gragson.
"THIS MF TEAM," Smith wrote.
Here is the hilarious post taken from the 2009 movie The Hangover.
As the post suggests, Zane Smith will drive the No. 38 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for Front Row Motorsports. The deal has been sealed after the court approved the transfer of one of the three Stewart-Haas Racing charters to the team.
Todd Gilliland has changed his racing number from No. 38 to No. 34, while Noah Gragson's number is yet to be announced.
The upcoming FRM stint comes on the heels of the 2024 season with Spire Motorsports where he scored two top-5 and four top-10 finishes. He also lost the Rookie of the Year race to teammate Carson Hocevar.
Regardless, the young driver has found a new home with FRM for 2025. He will debut with the team on February 16 for the season-opener at Daytona International Speedway.
Zane Smith shared his thoughts on signing with Front Row Motorsports
Zane Smith expressed optimism after signing with Front Row Motorsports. He said it is a 'great time to come back' with a team he previously drove for and make a name for himself in the coming years.
Before driving for Spire Motorsports, Smith ran a two-year full-time schedule with FRM in the Craftsman Truck Series. He notably won the 2022 championship and bagged six victories.
In a statement, Smith said:
"I’ve always felt at home with Front Row Motorsports."
He also commended Todd Gilliland and Noah Gragson as they become teammates for the next season.
"Now, going into next year, Front Row has really taken their Cup program to another level and I cannot think of a better lineup of teammates. Todd and Noah are great friends of mine and we all have a lot to prove as young drivers in the Cup Series. It is a great time to come back and continue to build my career with an organization where I know I can win," Smith added.
FRM is set to become among the youngest teams in the 2025 season. Smith is 25-years-old, while Gilliland and Gragson are 24- and 26-years-old, respectively.
