NASCAR driver Zane Smith’s wife, McCall, took to her Instagram stories to share how their six-year-old French bulldog, Kygo, helped them prepare for this year’s Thanksgiving Day. The furry assistant kept a strict watch on McCall’s parents while they were busy setting up the grand feast.
Thanksgiving is the time when families come together and express their gratitude towards one another. Therefore, Little Kygo, who is very much family to Zane Smith and his wife, was not going to be left out of the celebration. But Kygo wasn’t going to help out for free.
Thankfully, Grandma dropped some shredded cheese out of the tray of macaroni by mistake. Kygo instantly knew it was his reward and proceeded to clean it up. McCall recorded the entire episode and posted it on her story.
“kygo helped grandpa prep the turkey and was grandmas food clean up last night,” she wrote.
Kygo was still not done helping his family. Next, he assumed the role of a lifeguard for his sister Smith’s four-year-old golden retriever, Roxy. Roxy, however, did not care about anything but a relaxing plunge into the pool and a ball that she held tight within her jaws. McCall recorded that as well and posted it as her next story.
“then was Roxy's lifeguard this morning on her Thanksgiving morning swim,” she added.
Smith is fresh out of his first full season in the Cup Series, driving the No. 71 Chevrolet for Spire Motorsports under a loan from Trackhouse Racing. He rounded up his rookie season with two top-5s and four top-10s. Following his stint with Spire, Smith was supposed to join Trackhouse for the 2025 season.
However, as per reports, Smith will be replaced by former Front Row Motorsports driver and 2021 Daytona 500 winner Michael McDowell next year. Smith’s plans for 2025 are uncertain as of now. Rumors have been circulating that the 2022 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion could join Front Row Motors or even Kaulig Racing.
McCall dreams of her husband Zane Smith’s career-first achievement
In 2022, Zane Smith entered his third full season in the Truck Series, closing the previous two seasons as runner-up on points. That year, Smith picked not one, not two, but four impressive wins en route to the regular season championship as well as the ultimate titular victory at Phoenix Raceway.
Smith turned heads by finishing 13th in his very first Daytona 500, one of NASCAR’s crown jewel events, in 2023. In just his sixth Cup Series start at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The Californian delivered an impressive top-10 finish.
However, a Cup Series win is still missing from his resume. A few days back, McCall dreamt that Smith had won his first Cup Series race and soon tweeted about the same.
“Had a dream last night that Zane won his first cup race! Hopefully someday that dream can become reality 🙏🏼🤍Can you tell I’m already missing NASCAR? LOL,” she wrote.
When a fan asked what track it was, McCall replied:
“Martinsville!”
But before winning his first Cup Series race, Zane Smith will need to land a deal at least to get him through 2025. Otherwise, he might drop down to the Xfinity Series or even go back to driving trucks. As mentioned before, none of that is certain for now.
