Zane Smith’s wife McCall Smith rejoiced when the Georgia Bulldogs defeated the Texas Longhorns 22-19 in overtime on Saturday for the SEC championship. She also remembered her late Bulldog, who recently died at the age of 14.

McCall Smith mourned her bulldog's death on one of her Instagram stories. And when Georgia won, she dedicated the win to her dog.

Posting a photo of Bella in a custom-made Georgia Bulldogs jersey, Zane Smith's wrote in another story:

“This @georgiafootball win is extra special tonight! for Bella up in doggy heaven.”

McCall has two more dogs, a six-year-old French bulldog named Kygo and a four-year-old golden retriever named Roxy. On Thanksgiving weekend, McCall posted a video where Kygo was seen helping in the kitchen and then another where Roxy was enjoying a swim as Kygo watched on. Needless to say, McCall holds them dear to her heart.

McCall tied the knot with Smith this year in January. Smith, a 25-year-old Huntington Beach native, drove the No. 71 Chevrolet for Spire Motorsports under a loan from Trackhouse Racing in 2024 but former Front Row Motorsports icon and 2021 Daytona 500 winner, Michael McDowell will take his ride over next year. Smith’s ride for the upcoming season is not confirmed yet.

Denny Hamlin expresses thoughts on Zane Smith as a free agent in 2025

As per rumors, Zane Smith could join Front Row Motorsports in 2025. The team announced in May that they were considering adding a third chartered car to its Cup Series roster. However, the team is currently in a legal dispute with NASCAR over the newest charter settlement, and therefore, nothing is certain as of now.

Renowned journalist Bob Pockrass said recently on X that Front Row Motorsports could field three open cars in 2025. He also added that as long as there are three cars under the banner of Front Row Motorsport, Smith could be expected to take his business there.

Denny Hamlin, driver of the No. 11 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing vouched for Smith in his Actions Detrimental podcast, saying,

“I think he’s a good enough talent that he is going to get a good opportunity. A winning opportunity somewhere. I hope it’s in Cup.”
“He’s already turned the corner to being twice as good as he was at the beginning of the season. So, what is he gonna do a year from now? Two years from now? I think the ceiling is pretty high on him. I think he’ll get picked up by somebody who sees it,” he added. (via On3)

The 2025 season kicks off at Bowman Gray Stadium on February 2. Fans can watch the race live on FOX from 8 pm ET or listen to radio updates on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. They can also take a look at the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series schedule here.
