NASCAR driver Zane Smith's wife McCall has shared the news of her dog Bella's death. She posted a tribute on her Instagram stories, sharing photos and reflecting on the joy Bella brought to her life.
The couple has two more pets, a six-year-old French bulldog named Kygo and a four-year-old golden retriever named Roxy.
"Our sweet angel, Bella passed away this morning. 14 years with her. Going to miss her forever," McCall Smith wrote.
McCall shared pictures of Bella with Roxy and Kygo, recalling the good times they had together:
"The biggest diva. Going to miss that energy."
Finally, McCall shared a collage of pictures with Bella and wrote:
"Forever a queen 🩷"
The couple have been together since their teenage years and tied the knot in January 2024 after Zane Smith proposed on April 30, 2022, during a NASCAR Truck Series race weekend. They spent over a year planning their wedding.
Veteran driver Michael McDowell will replace Smith, rumored to join Kaulig Racing, in the #71 Chevy in the upcoming NASCAR season.
Zane Smith’s wife dreamt of his career-first achievement
Zane Smith had an underwhelming run in the 2024 Cup season, piloting the #71 Chevrolet for Spire Motorsports. In 36 races, he secured five top-10 and two top-five finishes. His best came at Nashville Superspeedway, merely 0.068 seconds behind Joey Logano, who eventually won the 2024 Cup Series title.
However, his wife McCall recently had a dream where she saw Smith win his first Cup Series race.
"Had a dream last night that Zane won his first cup race! Hopefully someday that dream can become reality 🙏🏼🤍 Can you tell I’m already missing NASCAR? LOL," McCall Smith tweeted.
With Michael McDowell's arrival as his replacement at Spire, the former Truck Series champion's Cup career is in doubt.
