Pennzoil 400 is a NASCAR Cup Series stock car race presented by Jiffy Lube which is held annually at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, Nevada. Las Vegas has two races; the Pennzoil 400 and the South Point 400. The Pennzoil 400 was first held in 1998, covering a distance of 400 miles (640 km) and has a total of 267 laps. However in 2009, an extra 27 miles were added by the sponsor Carroll Shelby International, making the race 427 miles long.
The race was sponsored by United Auto Workers and DaimlerChrysler for several years. It was known as the UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 from 2001 to 2008, showcasing the company formed by Chrysler and Daimler-Benz 1998 merger. Later on, it came to be known as the UAW-Dodge 400 in 2008 and then as Shelby American in 2009 and 2010 when Carrol Shelby International became the sponsor. From 2011 to 2013, the race was called Kobalt Tools 400 when Lowe’s took sponsorship. From 2014 to 2017 it became Kobalt 400. It was the 2018 season from which the race came to be known as the Pennzoil 400.
