The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season wrapped up on November 10th at Phoenix Raceway. Although the year was filled with many surprises, few teams battled on through the season with consistent performances.
All teams were poised to make a difference at the start of the season. However, the ones with three or more charters stood the best chance of leading the championship from day one. This became evident when Joe Gibbs Racing, one of the most winningest teams in the modern era was able to grab two wins in the first five races (Denny Hamlin in the season-opening Busch Light Clash and Christopher Bell in the Duel 2 at Daytona).
However, the likes of Hendrick Motorsports, Team Penske, 23XI Racing, and a few others took multiple victories as the season passed by. Although Team Penske emerged as the champion in the Championship 4 race, the efforts of HMS or JGR were significant enough throughout the year.
Here's a look at the top 3 teams with the most wins in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series.
#3. Joe Gibbs Racing (6 wins in 2024)
With four charters and a strong driver lineup consisting of Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr., Christopher Bell, and Ty Gibbs, Joe Gibbs Racing was chasing the NASCAR Cup Series title since the start of the 2024 season.
While all drivers were able to make it to the playoff season, only Hamlin and Bell entered the Round of 8 (one round before the Championship 4 race).
Hamlin finished the season in eighth place, while Bell ended the year in fifth in the drivers' championship. Both managed to secure three wins each for JGR, taking the tally to 6 wins in the 2024 season. All JGR racers drove Toyota-powered race cars.
#2. Team Penske (8 wins this season)
Although the Ford-powered Team Penske took the 2024 NASCAR crown with a one-two finish in the drivers' standings, it came second on the most wins list this year with a driver lineup consisting of two-time champion Joey Logano, Austin Cindric, and the 2023 defending champion Ryan Blaney.
Team Penske also became the second team on the grid to have all racers in the Round of 12. While Logano and Blaney battled it out at Phoenix, the former eventually clinched the title and his third Cup Series championship.
Over the season, Logano accumulated four wins, Blaney got three, and Cindric took one win, taking the total team tally to eight race wins
#1. Hendrick Motorsports (11 wins in 2024)
With all four drivers in the Round of 8 (momentarily), the Chevrolet-powered Hendrick Motorsports was in serious contention to win the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series title. However, the disqualification of Alex Bowman allowed Logano to progress and eventually win the championship.
While Larson was the most successful driver of the season with six wins, his poor performance in Round of 8 saw him get eliminated ahead of the finale at Phoenix.
Apart from Larson, Byron had three wins, while Elliott and Bowman had one each, taking HMS's total to 11 wins in the season.
