Ryan Preece is an American professional stock car racing driver who competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 41 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for Stewart-Haas Racing. Preece made his NASCAR Cup Series debut in the 2015 Sylvania 300 in Loudon, finishing 32nd in the race. Prior to this, Preece competed in the ARCA Menards Series East and the ARCA Menards Series West, and is also a prolific driver of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.
Preece started racing in 2007, and a year later, he finished third for the first time in his career in the Northeastern Midget Association. He debuted in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in the 2013 CNBC Prime’s “The Profit” 200, Loudon, New Hampshire Motor Speedway, driving the No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro for Tommy Baldwin Racing. Preece made his Craftsman Truck Series debut in 2021, driving the No. 17 for David Gilliland Racing in the races at Nashville Superspeedway and Pocono Raceway. Preece has not won any race in the NASCAR Cup Series but has managed to secure 13 top-ten finishes and a single pole position. In the Xfinity Series, Preece has won two races, secured 21 top-ten finishes, and a single pole position. The Craftsman Truck Series has also seen Preece win two times, bagging 11 top-ten finishes, and one pole position.
