In 2015, Kyle Larson talked about his fainting incident during an autograph session at Martinsville Speedway. He fainted due to dehydration after two practice sessions on March 28 and was taken to a local hospital.

Larson, who was 22 at the time, was released after two days of testing and returned to racing on April 10 at Texas Motor Speedway. Doctors advised him to eat breakfast and avoid junk food to stay healthy.

He later spoke about not being able to enjoy Fuzzy's Tacos in Texas and revealed that he hates breakfast.

"Yeah, it stinks when you come here to Texas and they have the Fuzzy’s Tacos that are really good and you can’t go over there and eat them probably. I hate breakfast, so I’ve got to find some things that I like to eat in the morning and just make sure I drink enough fluids. I feel like I take decent care of myself. That morning was a little bit different because I overslept and had to rush out to the car, but we should be good,” Kyle Larson said (via autoweek.com).
"Definitely when you are young you think you are bulletproof, and that’s just one little instance that shows you that you aren’t,” he added.

Larson had won the Cup Series Rookie of the Year award with Chip Ganassi Racing the previous season with eight top fives and 16 top tens. However, he had a disappointing 2015 season and finished 19th in the final standings.

"There’s no other track that suits me like this" - Kyle Larson after he won the 2015 Xfinity race at Homestead

Kyle Larson also competed part-time for HScott Motorsports in the Xfinity Series and won his third race in the series at the 2015 season finale. After leading 118 of the 200 laps, he won the race at Homestead-Miami Speedway by less than a second.

Larson, who had not won in 13 starts that season, said:

"We’ve been frustrated a number of times this year. Some races, we haven’t had the speed we had last year. Also, we’ve had a lot of races where we were pretty fast, then had something happen to us in the last run of the races. It’s just been a really inconsistent year," Kyle Larson said (via NASCAR.com).
"There’s no other track that suits me like this track. I’m just really comfortable running up against the wall. I seem to always have good race cars when I come here," he added.

Chris Buescher finished 11th and ended up winning his first Xfinity Series title in 2015.
