Chase Elliott is from Dawsonville, Georgia. William Clyde Elliott II is a second-generation NASCAR Cup Series driver. He is the son of Hall of Famer, Bill Elliott. The Elliotts are the third duo of father and son to win a championship in NASCAR. Chase Elliott is the 2020 Cup Series Champion and has won the Most Popular Driver award 6 times consecutively from 2018-2023. Chase Elliott is also among the 75 Greatest Drivers of NASCAR according to their list released in 2023. He drives for Hendrick Motorsports in their no. 9 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

Elliott has been racing in the Cup Series since 2016. He was the Rookie of the Year in 2016. Since his debut in NASCAR, Elliott has won 19 races and claimed 162 Top-10s in the NASCAR Cup Series as of July 17th, 2024. He has qualified for the playoffs in the 2024 Cup Series season after winning the EchoPark Automotive 400 race in Texas. Elliott started the Daytona 500 on pole consecutively in his rookie years in 2016 and 2017. He is also a champion in the Xfinity Series. Elliott won the championship in 2014, becoming the youngest champion and the first rookie to claim a title in the series.

Chase Elliott was born and brought up in Dawsonville, Georgia. He and his father Bill are a part of the huge legacy of the town. The “Dawsonville Gang” were a band of four drivers, Gober Sosebee, Roy Hall, Lloyd Seay and Bernard Long. These drivers participated in races on the Daytona beach/ road course and won from 1941-1959. Chase Elliott joined their legacy when he won in Xfinity Series in 2016, whereas his father won the 1985 Daytona 500.

Chase Elliott was featured in the Sports Illustrated in 2009 at the age of 13. Chase Elliott won the All-American 400 in 2013 and became the first driver to win all four of the largest short-track races in the country. He made his debut in the NASCAR Truck Series in January 2013. Elliott ran a 9 race schedule with Hendrick Motorsports in the 2013 season. The next year in January 2014 it was announced that Elliott would compete full-time in the Xfinity Series.
