Draymond Green’s NBA Journey

Golden State Warriors selected Draymond Green as the 35th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. Although his late selection was quite a surprise looking at his breathtaking resume, Green became a full-fledged NBA star playing alongside Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

After early exits from the playoffs, Golden State Warriors bounced back with their first-ever 10-0 start in the 2015 season. The Warriors topped the league with a 67-15 record and went on to win the Championship in 2015. Green played a pivotal role in the playoffs, delivering a triple-double performance in the championship game.

After missing out on the 2016 NBA Championship, Draymond Green and the Warriors went all in in the following seasons. With the addition of Kevin Durant to the roaster, GSW were favorites to win the title. But Draymond Green had a monstrous season, winning the Defensive player of the year award and winning the second Championship with the Warriors.

After back-to-back championships in 2017 and 2018, injuries softened the Warriors’ attack, but Draymond Green and Stephen Curry carried them to the 2019 Finals, where they lost to the Toronto Raptors in 6 games.

Green missed a series of games from 2019 to 2022 and returned fully fit in the 2022 postseason, where the team delivered their fourth NBA Championship.
