The San Francisco 49ers will take on the New Orleans Saints in their second game of the 2024 preseason schedule today at Levi's Stadium. The game is scheduled to begin on Sunday, August 18 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
Fox will broadcast the Saints vs. 49ers preseason game nationwide. Adam Amin will call the play-by-play action, while Mark Sanchez, a former NFL quarterback, will provide color analysis. Kristina Pink will provide game commentary from the sidelines.
The 49ers and Saints were supposed to practice together prior to tonight's game, but the San Francisco team was forced to cancel those sessions because of a couple of injuries. Thirty-three Niners players did not feature in their first preseason game against the Tennessee Titans due to various reasons.

The Titans defeated the Niners 17–13 in that first preseason week.

The Niners' preseason game against the Saints is still scheduled to go on, despite the team's injury problems. However, head coach Kyle Shanahan may choose to rest most of his starters, like he did for their preseason opener last weekend.
In contrast, the Saints prevailed 16–14 over the Arizona Cardinals in their opening preseason encounter of the year. A.T. Perry (ankle), Jaylan Ford (hamstring), and Alvin Kamara (back soreness) are just a few of the players on the team that are also out due to injury.
New Orleans’ rookie Taliese Fuaga also left practice with back tightness this week. However, head coach Dennis Allen stated that the left tackle would play against the Niners if he felt better before the game, implying that the injury is not too serious.
The Saints missed the postseason for the third consecutive year after finishing last season with a 9-8 record. They will be looking to break that postseason drought in 2024. Their first regular season game of the year is slated to kickoff on September 8th at the Caesars Superdome against the Carolina Panthers.
