Sanji finds that Pedro has passed away as the Thousand Sunny cruises over peaceful water. He remembers their first encounter on Zou when the jaguar mink had begged him to spare Inuarashi and Nekomamushi from death following Jack's attack. Carrot urges him not to feel bad because Pedro wanted this and without his sacrifice, they would not have been able to escape alive but could not hold back her tears. When she begins to cry, Sanji comforts her. When cotton candy snow begins to fall, the crew interprets it as a sign that they are getting close to leaving Totto Land while Chopper is tending to Luffy's wounds.
On Cacao Island, the battle between the Sun Pirates, Germa 66, and the Big Mom Pirates is still going strong. Pudding is still camped out in Chocolat Town and is crying her eyes out while holding a roll of film. She recalls being used as Big Mom's pawn once to deceive and assassinate Sanji during their wedding ceremony while her mother constantly made derogatory comments about her third eye, claiming that it creeps her out. She recalls how she was getting bullied, called a freak, a monster, as everyone found her third eye creepy. She started crying as Sanji complimented her third eye, which Pudding had planned to use to stun him with disgust during their wedding. Pudding asked Sanji for a favor and kissed him in the final moments of their time together on Cacao Island, but immediately erased his memories of the event, leaving him wondering what her request was as she rushed away.
On Whole Cake Island, Mont-d'Or receives a call from Cacao Island stating that the Straw Hats had successfully escaped the Big Mom Pirates' area and they cannot chase them anymore after a stray Territorial Sea Slug picked up their ship on the borders of Totto Land. After hearing this information, Jinbe, the Sun Pirates, and Germa 66 prepare to withdraw from the battle on Cacao Island and get ready to flee. But as Big Mom enters the scene, everyone prepares to fight her. While Jinbe is determined to stay alive as he promised Luffy that he will make it out alive and join him, the Big Mom Pirates start wreaking havoc and Big Mom uses her ability on her targets, questioning them, “Life or Die”.
In the meantime, Brulee attends to Katakuri's wounds in the Mirro-World. She asks him why he fell forward and then stood up and fell on his back, and Katakuri says that he doesn't know. He confesses that his reputation for never laying on his back is a lie. Knowing this because she has seen him in reflections, Brulee says she doesn't think less of him because she is aware that Katakuri adopted his invulnerable appearance to protect his siblings. In a flashback, Katakuri recalls when they were young, he used to eat doughnuts while flaunting his enormous mouth, and if someone made fun of him, he would simply beat them up.
He later learned that Brulee had been severely beaten by the bullies he had beaten up and that they had given her a scar across her face in retaliation. Katakuri could not bear the thought of his sister suffering because of him, despite Brulee's insistence that things were great just the way they were. Katakuri went to deal with Brulee's attackers while wielding Mogura and donning a scarf to cover his mouth. Katakuri asks about what happened to Luffy in the present. As she had predicted, Katakuri beams when Brulee says that he managed to get away from Totto Land.
In the sea beyond Totto Land, Luffy says that he is famished. Luffy, Chopper, Brook, and Carrot are thrilled for him to cook when Sanji asks if he wants him to cook something for him. As Sanji begins to cook, a swarm of noisy pirates arrives in Baratie and demands food. The cooks are unhappy and reluctant to serve them, but Zeff immediately begins to prepare food. Zeff and Sanji both remark that everyone gets hungry, so they cook to feed anyone who wants food.
