Early Life
Gabriel Jesus was born on April 3, 1997, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He grew up in the neighborhood of Jardim Peri, where he began playing football at a very young age. At the age of nine, Jesus joined a local football club, Anhanguera. He quickly gained recognition for his talent and was scouted by several larger clubs, including Palmeiras. Jesus eventually signed with Palmeiras' youth academy, where he continued to hone his skills.
Club Career
Jesus began his professional club career at Palmeiras in Brazil, where he made his debut in March 2015. In his first season, he helped his team win the Copa do Brasil, scoring four goals in six matches. He then anchored the club to win their first Brazilian League title since 1994 scoring 12 goals in 2016. He scored 28 goals in 85 matches for them.
In January 2017, Manchester City signed Jesus for a reported fee of £27 million. He made an immediate impact, scoring three goals in his first four Premier League matches. He continued to be an important player for City, scoring 95 goals in 236 appearances during the span of six seasons. He helped them win four Premier Leagues, the FA Cup, and three EFL Cups.
On July 4, 2022, Jesus joined Arsenal on a five-year contract for a fee of £45 million. On August 13, in his second match and first at the Emirates, he scored his first and second competitive goals for the club against Leicester City and also provided two assists in a 4–2 win.
International Career
Jesus has represented Brazil at the international level since 2016. In his first international appearance, Jesus stole the show scoring a brace and acquiring a penalty for Neymar against Ecuador in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification in Quito in September 2016.
Jesus played a key role in Brazil's successful campaign to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, scoring seven goals in 10 matches. He was named in Brazil's squad for the tournament and scored two goals in five appearances as the team reached the quarter-finals. In the 2019 Copa America, Jesus scored two goals in the final against Peru as Brazil lifted the trophy. He was also named the tournament's best young player.
Jesus has continued to be a regular fixture in the Brazilian national team. He has scored 22 goals in 60 appearances for Brazil, making him one of the team's most important attacking players.

In 2016, at the age of 19, Jesus became the youngest player to score 10 goals in a single Brasileirão season.
