Sergio Aguero, also known as Kun Aguero, is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as a forward. He is considered to be one of the best strikers of this generation and one of the greatest players in the history of the Premier League, he is best remembered for his time at Manchester City.
Early Life
Sergio Aguero was born on June 2, 1988, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He grew up in the district of Villa del Parque in the capital city. He was interested in football from a young age and began playing in the neighborhood streets when he was just four years old. He joined the youth academy of Independiente, one of the top clubs in Argentina, at the age of nine.
At Independiente, Aguero quickly rose through the ranks and made his first-team debut at the age of 15. He became a regular starter for the team in the 2005-06 season and helped them win the Clausura tournament. His performances for Independiente attracted the attention of several top European clubs, and in 2006 he signed with Spanish club Atletico Madrid for a fee of €23 million.
Club Career
Aguero's club career began with Argentine side Independiente, where he played from 2003 to 2006. He then moved to Europe to play for Atletico Madrid in 2006, where he quickly established himself as one of the best young talents in the game. At Atletico Madrid, Aguero scored 101 goals in 234 appearances across all competitions, becoming the club's all-time leading scorer in European competitions. He helped the team win the UEFA Europa League in 2010 and finished as the tournament's top scorer.
In 2011, Aguero signed with Manchester City in the English Premier League for a fee of £35 million. He immediately became a key player for City, scoring two goals in his debut game and finishing his first season with 30 goals in all competitions.
He went on to become one of the most prolific goal-scorers in Premier League history, scoring a total of 184 goals in 275 appearances for Manchester City. He helped the team win five Premier League titles, an FA Cup, and six League Cups during his time at the club.
In May 2021, Agüero announced that he would be leaving Manchester City at the end of the season. He then signed a two-year deal with Barcelona on May 31, 2021, but was only made to make five appearances before being diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmia. He announced his retirement on December 15, 2021, due to this, bringing an end to a 20-year career.
International Career
Aguero made his national team debut in 2006 against Brazil in an International friendly at Emirates Stadium, England. A year later, Aguero scored his first goal for Argentina in a World Cup Qualifiers match against Bolivia.
Aguero has played in several major international tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup, the Copa America, and the Confederations Cup. He was a member of the Argentina team that finished as runners-up in the 2014 World Cup and the 2015 and 2016 editions of the Copa America.
In the 2018 World Cup, Agüero scored his first World Cup goal in Argentina's 2-1 victory over Nigeria in the group stage. However, Argentina were knocked out of the tournament in the Round of 16 by eventual winners France.
Aguero made his 100th international appearance for Argentina 4–1 win against Bolivia in his team's final group stage match of the 2021 Copa América. They went on to win the tournament, beating Peru in the final.
In total, he made 101 appearances for Argentina, scoring 41 goals.

Aguero is known for his love of video games, particularly streaming himself playing FIFA on the popular platform Twitch. He is also a fan of basketball and supports the NBA team the Houston Rockets.
