Sabrina Elaine Ionescu is a basketball player who is playing for the New York Liberty in the WNBA. Born on December 6, 1997, At 5 feet 11 inches, she is known for her remarkable three-point shooting, earning comparisons to Stephen Curry. Ionescu's high school and college careers were marked by numerous accolades, including being named MVP of the McDonald's All-American Game at the school level. She led the Oregon Ducks team to their first Final Four appearance and for that reason, she won prestigious awards like the John R. Wooden Award and recognizing her as the top player in NCAA Division I.

In her senior year at college, she became the national player of the year and led Division I in assists. She holds the record for the most career triple-doubles in Division I. After college, Ionescu was the first overall pick by the New York Liberty in the 2020 WNBA draft. Sabrina Ionescu is the NCAA all-time leader in triple-doubles and became AP Player of the Year in 2020. In the same year, she received the Honda Sports Award, the James E. Sullivan Award, the Naismith College Player of the Year, and the USBWA Player of the Year. She won the John R. Wooden Award twice (2019, 2020), the Wade Trophy twice (2019, 2020), and was a unanimous first-team All-American three times (2018–2020). Ionescu also earned the Senior CLASS Award in 2020 and the Nancy Lieberman Award three times (2018–2020).
