Pokemon GO August 2024 Community Day Classic will take place on August 18, 2024. This event came as a surprise to the community as Niantic had not mentioned it while releasing the dates for the upcoming Community Days on May 20, 2024. That said, considering it is one of the best events in the game, hardly any players will complain about this unexpected inclusion.

While the star of the main August Community Day has been announced, there is no hint about what Pocket Monster will be the star of the Pokemon GO August 2024 Community Day Classic. Considering it is also the day of the Pokemon World Championship finals, the creature under the spotlight has to match the level of hype the event is expected to get.

The Pokemon GO August 2024 Community Day Classic being held on the final day of the Pokemon World Championships is the perfect opportunity to bring back the franchise mascot. This was the first-ever Community Day event that took place on January 18, 2018.

Pikachu caught during the event could know the exclusive move Surf and players received 2x XP for capturing Pocket Monsters. It has been over six and half years since the event, and the present occasion is a fantastic opportunity to revisit this classic 'mon.

2) Eevee

Alongside Pikachu, Eevee is another beloved off-beat starter in the Pokemon franchise. This Normal-type critter received its first Community Day on August 11 and 12, 2018. Last Resort was the exclusive move that Eevee could learn during this event, which also featured 3x Catch XP.

Given the number of evolutions Eevee has, Pokemon GO August 2024 Community Day Classic featuring this Pocket Monster has the potential to attract a wide range of players across the world.

Trapinch and its final evolution Flygon are two of the most beloved critters from the Hoenn region. It got its Community Day on October 12, 2019. Alongside the longer Lure Module duration, the event featured special Eggs that hatched Trapinch alongside 3x catch XP. Evolving Trapinch's evolution Vibrava during the event would give players a Flygon that could use Earth Power.

Given the community's fascination with Flygon, it wouldn't be surprising to see Trapinch return for the Pokemon GO August 2024 Community Day Classic.

4) Gible

Gible Community Day originally took place on June 6, 2021. The event featured a 3x Catch XP bonus as well. The event-exclusive move that Garchomp would know if players evolved Gabite during the period was Earth Power.

Considering Garchomp is one of the strongest Dragon- and Ground-type attackers in the game, and Gible is next in line among the Pseudo Legendaries Community Day Classic (Dratini, Larvitar, and Bagon have already had theirs in Nov 2022, Jan 2023, and April 2024, respectively) August 2024 seems like the perfect opportunity.

Speaking of sequences, Totodile, the Water-type starter from Gen II, is next in line when it comes to regional starter Community Day Classics. Totodile Community Day took place on January 12, 2019, and featured a 1/4 Egg distance bonus on top of extended Lure Module timings. Evolving Croconaw during the event also gave you a Feraligatr that knows Hydro Cannon.

With Feraligatr getting access to Shadow Claw, it has risen to meta status in Great League and Ultra League formats of Pokemon GO. Therefore, the Pokemon GO August 2024 Community Day Classic which takes place on the Pokemon GO World Championship finals will be the perfect opportunity to bring back Totodile.
