The best Pokemon to beat Pheromosa in Pokemon GO are those with Flying-type moves, as this type is highly effective against the Ultra Beast. The Pokemon usually appears in 5-star raid battles along with Buzzwole and Xukritree in different parts of the world. The latter’s type is Electric and the former's and Pheromosa’s types are dual Bug and Fighting. Their weaknesses can be exploited to take them down in the game.

Pheromosa can be used in both PvP and PvE battle scenarios, and in this list article, we will detail five highly strong Pokemon to use against it.

5 super-effective counter Pokemon to defeat Pheromosa in Pokemon GO

1) Rayquaza

The Legendary Pokemon Rayquaza can easily lower the Hit Points of Pheromosa in Pokemon GO raids or the game's PvP aspects. When facing the Ultra Beast in a raid battle, teach Raqyuaza the Fast Move Air Slash and the Charged Move Dragon Ascent. Both of these moves are of the Flying types, which are 256% strong against Pheromosa.

When the Sky High Pokemon uses moves of the Dragon or Flying types, it can register more damage per second and total damage output data because of the STAB mechanic. So, Rayquaza should learn the same moveset with an additional Charged Move called Hurricane for PvP mode.

2) Moltres

The battle capability of Moltres is simply astonishing, and creatures like Buzzwole and Pheromosa in Pokemon GO cannot go toe-to-toe against this counter. Since the Ultra Beast is weak to Fire and Flying-type, any moves taught to the Legendary Pokemon, except for the Rock-type Ancient Rock, are lethal. This is because of Pheromosa’s type weaknesses in Flying and Fire.

In raids, your Moltres should be equipped with the correct set of attacks, i.e., Fast Moves Wing Attack and the Charged Moves Sky Attack. Moreover, the Legendary Pokemon in Trainer Battles and GO Battle League should learn Overheat in addition to the best PvE moveset.

3) Yveltal

Yveltal’s appearance is fearful, and it has dual type prowess, Flying and Dark. A max-level Yveltal has a CP of 4275, with an attack-and-stamina-focused stat spread. To get the best out of its power, align the right moveset for Yveltal to beat Pheromosa in Pokemon GO. So, the creature should know Gust as the Fast Move and Oblivion Wing as the Charged Move for raids.

Yveltal can do much better in PvP (GO Battle League) when taught Gust, Hurricane, and Oblivion Wings. It also knows a Psychic-type attack to damage Pheromosa, but this one should be ignored as it’s only 160% effective against the beast.

4) Enamorus

The newly released member of the Forces of Nature, Enamorus, is super powerful for Pheromosa in Pokemon GO. Trainers should know that the Legendary Pokemon becomes a terrifying force when it uses Zen Headbutt as the Fast Move and Fly as the Charged Move in Pheromosa raids. While the former’s type is Psychic, the latter is a Flying-type move with 80 damage statistics.

Pheromosa can also be brutally tackled by Enamorus in PvP gameplay modes, such as the GO Battle League and the Trainer Battles. In this mode, the member can master Zen Headbutt as the Fast Move and Fly as well as Dazzling Gleam as the Charged Moves.

5) Shadow Ho-Oh

Lastly, Shadow Ho-Oh is unapologetic, merciless, and can easily land heavy hits on Pheromosa in Pokemon GO. In a PvE battle, the Shadow counter does exceptionally well with the Fast Attack Incinerate and the Charged Move Brave Bird. Furthermore, it can tap into its signature move, Scared Fire, but this one shouldn’t be utilized as its effectiveness against Phermosa is less.

Meanwhile, Pheromosa can be brought down in PvE mode with the help of the Shadow Ho-Oh’s Fast Move Incinerate and the Charged Moves Brave Bird and Sacred Fire.
