Defeating Rayquaza in Pokemon GO is tough because of its formidable Dragon and Flying-type prowess. Despite that, certain Pocket Monsters pose a significant threat to it. These counters wield super-effective moves that exploit Rayquaza’s type weaknesses, which makes them excellent for 5-star Raids and GO Battle League competition. Mega Rayquaza is coming to Mega Raids, and the creatures mentioned on the list below are effective against all forms of this beast.

The STAB effect enhances the damage output of Pokemon moves by 1.2x. The creatures listed below will deal an extra 1.2x more damage to Rayquaza because of this effect.

5 super-effective counter Pokemon for Rayquaza in Pokemon GO

1) Shadow Mamoswine

A max-level Shadow Mamoswine boasts a 20% increased Attack stat and a CP of 3,763. It has access to limited move options. Nevertheless, the Fast Attack Powder Snow and the Charged Attack Avalanche should be enough to hurt Rayquaza in Pokemon GO in PvE scenarios.

This Ice-type PvP moveset comprises a Fast Attack that deals 6 damage in 1.0 seconds and a Charged Attack inflicting 90 damage every 2.7 seconds.

In PvP battles, Shadow Mamoswine should learn Powder Snow, Avalanche, and High Horsepower to fight Rayquaza. High Horsepower is a Ground-type move with a damage of 110.

2) Shadow Weavile

Shadow Weavile is an Ice and Dark-type Pokemon, but since Dark-type is ineffective when it comes to beating Rayquaza in Pokemon GO, you should teach the Shadow Monster Ice-related Fast and Charged Moves.

In this game, the Pokemon from Sinnoh can master Ice Shard, Avalanche, and Triple Axel. When training your Shadow Weavile for PvE confrontation, make sure it knows the two former moves.

When playing with friends in Trainer Battles, your Shadow Weavile should utilize all of its attacks of Ice-type to take down Rayquaza.

3) Galarian Darmanitan

Using Galarian Darmanitan as a counter for Rayquaza in Pokemon GO is a very good idea. Its moveset is devastating, both in PvP and PvE formats. Because of this, even the strongest Dragon-type Pokemon cannot withstand its hits. A high-level Darmanitan from Galar performs phenomenally when faced with Rayquaza, thanks to its killer movesets.

While your Galarain Darmanitan should be taught Ice Fang and Avalanche in PvE gameplay, it should have Ice Fang, Superpower, and Avalanche in PvP. These move combinations can easily take down Rayquaza.

4) Baxcalibur

Rayquaza in Pokemon GO can also be beaten by Baxcalibur, a pseudo-Legendary entity with access to strong Dragon and Ice-type moves. Both are 160% weak to Dragon-type attacks, but the pseudo-Legendary creature should not learn them under any circumstances for this battle.

Aside from this fight, your Baxcalibur must combat with Dragon Breath as the Fast Attack in PvE.

In Rayquaza or Mega Rayquaza Raids, train your Baxcalibur with Ice Fang and Avalanche. You should also set up a new moveset for the creature in PvP, which needs to have Ice Fang, Avalanche, and Blizzard.

5) Glaceon

Players often overlook Glaceon in competitive play due to its deficiencies, but its niche allows it to beat Pokemon like Rayquaza in Pokemon GO. It evolves from Eevee, receives praise for being elegant, and sports great attacks, making it a formidable force in Niantic’s game.

Glaceon has two Ice-type Fast and Charged moves, and things won't go south even if you use the wrong moves when fighting Rayquaza.

The Fast Attack Ice Shard and the Charged Attacks Avalanche and Ice Winy are necessary to quickly nullify Rayquaza’s power in PvP plays. On the contrary, Glaceon should be provided with Frost Breath and Avalanche for the same purpose in PvE mode.

From the above list, we now know that Raqyuaza is extremely weak against Pokemon with Ice-type attacks. Moreover, Pokemon with Ice-type are way better to use since they benefit from the STAB effect.
