The long-anticipated Pokemon TCG Shrouded Fable expansion is finally here. It brings the Legendary trio and the Mythical Pokemon from the land of Kitakami into the card game. Players have been excited for Shrouded Fables since the release of the Teal Mask expansion for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

However, not every trainer will be interested in each individual card Shrouded Fable has to offer. As such, collectors may want to know what some of the best-looking cards in the expansion are.

Here are the five most appealing cards from the Pokemon TCG: Shrouded Fable expansion.

5 best-looking cards collectors should look for in the Pokemon TCG Shrouded Fables expansion

1) Illustration-Rare Houndoom

Illustration-Rare cards feature full-body artwork for the creature they showcase. They are typically identical to a similar card in the deck, featuring the same Pocket Monster with the same moves.

This is also the case with the Illustration-Rare card released in the Shrouded Fable expansion of the Pokemon TCG. Houndoom is already a relatively popular critter, so its enhanced artwork makes this item highly coveted by collectors.

The artwork features a pack of Houndoom, likely about to pounce on unsuspecting prey. This could be a slight reference to an event that takes place in the Scarlet and Violet games.

2) Illustration-Rare Dusknoir

Dusknoir is one of the more niche Ghost-type creatures in the franchise, being more beloved among fans of the Mystery Dungeon side-series of games. However, Pokemon fans worldwide would probably agree that the hand-drawn artwork for Dusknoir's Illustration-Rare card featured in Shrouded Fable is just flat-out charming.

Being a Ghost-type Pokemon known for guiding souls to the spirit world, Dusknoir having one hand placed menacingly on a person's screen door is a forboding sight.

However, the cute artstyle and the critter's rather Studio Ghibli-esque appearance makes the ghoul appear more like it is asking for a turn on the Nintendo Switch rather than reaping souls.

3) Illustration-Rare Zorua

Zorua, known for its high energy and mischevious nature, has been a relatively popular Pokemon since its reveal towards the very end of the fourth generation. It is very satisfying to see this card present the Pocket Monster in such a state of peace. In the art, the critter is sleeping atop a post at a shrine in Kitakami.

The art style makes it seem like Zorua is a film-quality CGI model rather than a picture on a trading card.

4) Hyper-Rare Pecharunt

This is the only Hyper-Rare card of the Pokemon TCG Shrouded Fable expansion. Pecharunt is the newest Pocket Monster to come to the franchise following an epilogue update to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. With it being the main focus of the expansion, it makes sense for the creature to receive the Hyper-Rare for this set.

Hyper-Rares typically have a majority of their space taken up by a holographic gold design. While the design of the card might not be the best, Pecharunt is the rarest creature in the expansion, making it a high-ticket item for Shrouded Fables.

5) Disloyal Three & Pecharunt Illustration-Rares

With all four of these cards looking so great, it was hard to pick one for the last spot on the list. Since they all belong to a Legendary Trio and Mythical fourth member, they are somewhat similar in design. Nevertheless, they each remain tastefully unique, with differing primary colors and poses that show off the personalities of each of the members.

These cards are all Illustration-Rares, so they will be relatively hard to come by from opening booster packs. They are all ex cards, meaning they have some use in the card game rather than just being treasured among collectors. Nevertheless, their rarity and great designs make them incredibly valuable.
