Top PvP picks from Pokemon GO Scorching Steps

1) Magby

Magby evolves into Magmar, which evolves into Magmortar. While it is ranked relatively low on PvPoke for both the Great League and the Ultra League of Pokemon GO, it is a force to be reckoned with when set up with a shield or energy advantage.

Magby can be found in 2 km Eggs during Pokemon GO Scorching Sands. It takes 25 Candy to evolve it to Magmar, as well as 100 Candy and a Sinnoh Stone to get Magmortar.

2) Turtonator

Turtonator, a Fire and Dragon-type Pocket Monster, is a powerful Ultra League contender. It is also an excellent closer with Incinerate as its Fast Attack, and Dragon Pulse and Overheat as its Charged Attacks. It has decent bulk and impressive defensive typing, allowing it to find success in even-shielded endgames.

During the Pokemon GO Scorching Steps event, you can get Turtonator from 10 km Eggs. This is a one-step evolution. However, you need Candy XL for optimal Ultra League usage.

3) Charcadet

Charcadet is a recent addition to the Pokemon GO roster. Both its evolutions, Armarouge and Ceruledge, have play in Pokemon GO's Ultra League. Despite not being outstanding picks owing to their relatively weak defensive stats, they can output significant damage, making them viable as closers when shields are up.

Charcadet can be exclusively found in 10 km Eggs during Pokemon GO Scorching Steps. Once you have it, you must set it as your Buddy and defeat 30 Psychic or Ghost-type Pocket Monsters to evolve it into Armarouge or Ceruledge, respectively.

4) Litwick

Litwick evolves into Lampant and subsequently into Chandelure, which is a powerful closer in the Great, Ultra, and Master League formats of GO Battle League. This Ghost and Fire-type Pocket Monster has an absurdly high Attack stat, which allows it to deal massive damage to its opponents even in neutral situations.

Litwick is available in 5 km Eggs during Pokemon GO Scorching Steps. You can evolve it into Lampant using 25 Candy. You can then use 100 Candy and an Unova Stone to get Chandelure.

5) Litleo

Litleo evolves into Pyroar, the only Normal and Fire-type critter in the game. This is an interesting combination, which can give you an advantage with the right team compositions. The Incinerate-Flame Charge combination does wonders, especially in neutral matchups, thanks to Pyroar's impressive attack and respectable bulk.

You can get Litleo from 5 km Eggs during Pokemon GO Scorching Steps. Feeding the critter 50 Candy will see it evolve into Pyroar. Depending on the gender of your Pyroar, it will look different. However, the male and the female versions have identical stats and move pools.
