Pokemon GO's recent eighth anniversary brought some new art for the mobile game. The artwork showed a Dynamaxed Wartortle in the background. This has led to many players believing that the iconic feature from the eighth-generation titles will be making its way to the game.

This has also made many wonder how Gigantamaxing will be handled in the mobile game. This feature is similar to Dynamaxing, but is only available for certain creatures, grants exclusive attacks with unique secondary effects, and a new design. Here are five Gigantamax forms Niantic should bring to Pokemon GO if the mechanic makes its way into the game.

5 Gigantamax forms that should come to Pokemon GO

1) Charizard

Gigantamax Charizard is the ace creature of Leon, the Galar region champion. In addition, it is also one of the original Kanto starters, so if Niantic did add Gigantamax forms into Pokemon GO, they would probably start with the original trio.

Gigantamax Charizard would be interesting to see in the game as well, given its amazing design and powerful signature attack. However, it is unclear whether G-Max or Max moves will be present with the Dynamax mechanic like it is in the main series.

2) Venusaur

Much like Charizard, Venusaur is one of the original Starter Pokemon to receive a Gigantamax form in Pokemon Sword and Shield. However, it did not come to the game until the release of the game's first expansion, Isle of Armor. With Venusaur already being one of the franchise's tankiest Grass-types, the extra health from Gigantamaxing would also greatly benefit its survivability in Pokemon GO.

Gigantamax Venusaur's signature move, G-Max Vine Lash, is the same as Gigantamax Charizard's G-Max Wildfire but deals Grass-type damage rather than Fire. The secondary effect of dealing with lingering damage on each turn is also present.

3) Blastoise

Gigantamax Blastoise is the last of the Kanto Starters and another form introduced in the Isle of Armor. This form of Blastoise's signature attack also rounds out the troop, with it being a Water-type version of Gigantamax Charizard's. This makes the Kanto trio the perfect way to introduce Pokemon GO fans to the new feature.

Much like the event for the rework of Mega Evolutions, players could receive a special research line that grants them one of the three Kanto starters, with the ultimate goal being to Gigantamax them. This would most likely be the best way to introduce the Dynamax mechanic to the player base.

4) Gengar

With the fall season almost here, Pokemon GO's Halloween events will surely bring many interesting creatures back into the mobile title. This would be the perfect time for Niantic to release Gigantamax Gengar into the game to promote the new feature with a much-beloved and festively appropriate creature,

Gigantamax Gengar's signature move in the main series prevents opponents from being switched out once they have been struck. However, since such utility is not present in Niantic's mobile spin-off, it will be interesting to see how the developers handle this attribute that defines the Gigantamax monster.

5) Machamp

Gigantamax Machamp is one of the more famous Gigantamax variants due to its use on Gym Leader Bea's team in the main series. It was also exclusive to Pokemon Sword. With its addition to the game, players could have a reason to use Machamp over other Fighting-types, as power creep has affected Machamp's viability in recent times.

In the main series, Machamp's signature G-Max move boosted its critical hit chance upon use. Since there is no word on how G-Max effects will be implemented, it is unclear if Gigantamax Machamp will have its signature ability from the main series. Nevertheless, it could make for an interesting choice depending on where Niantic allows these new forms to be played.
